Pacific Bluewater sportfishing is a newer charter service to the Westport fleet of 6 pack express charters.

What is a 6 pack?  It’s typically an express style fishing experience where up to 6 anglers can fish from a boat that has the ability to get out to the fishing grounds in a hurry.  We are NOT a big charter boat that carries 20 people and steams out to the grounds at 7 knots.  In favorable ocean conditions our boat is capable of a 37 knot cruise (42mph) making her very fast for her size.

Our charter runs Current Situation, a 39 foot SeaVee that spent much of her life on the east coast in Miami.  She’s a big boat at 39 feet long with an 11 foot beam and weighs in just over 19,000.  1600HP is being produced by quad 400 supercharged Mercury Verados and is equipped with state of the art Garmin electronics.  She stands apart in her stature, speed and ride quality. 

A note to the concept of a center console: it may not be for everyone, and we understand that, but let us give you some of the benefits:

• it gives us 360 degrees of fishing room which is hard to find in other platforms.  This means 6 people have plenty of room to spread out
• the ride quality is hard to beat (we have ocean tamer bean bags for people to sit in for a comfortable ride out )
• contrary to belief…it’s not a wet ride to the grounds: Seavee has a bow flare that pushes water away from the boat and we had gunnel wings installed to help keep as much spray off the back deck area as possible.
• She also has a stand up head that sits inside the console area. 
• At the end of the day we can’t control the weather…if it’s raining we will get wet.  Our recommendation is to always bring raingear. 

What will separate us from other boats in the fleet will be our platform combined with the use of top quality gear.  We have partnered with Accurate Reels and Edge Rods to give our anglers the best of what can be offered on a 6 pack charter.  For tuna we will be fishing the Edge Pelagic series rods paired with Accurate Fury 400N reels.  At the business end of the line we will be using Owner flyliner ringed hooks This combination makes for a light weight yet deadly effective live bait set up.

For halibut (and our trolling set up for tuna) we will be using Accurate Fury 600 reels paired with Edge Halibut series rods.  These rods were just finalized by Edge last year and we are lucky enough to be one of the first boats using these new rods.
